There aren't many groups in
America who could lay claim
to possibly 18 different genres of music, but Toronto's
Enter The Haggis is one of them. To engage this quintet
is to indulge rock, fusion, bluegrass, traditional Celtic
fare, agitpop, folk, even Latin flavors. Sounds awfully
confused, right? Wrong. ETH is one of those rare jewels
that actually pulls it all off as if to own everything.

When Steve Forbert
titles a new song "Middle Age," there's none of Loudon
Wainwright III's irony, Bob Dylan's bitterness or Bruce
Springsteen's romanticizing. That's because Forbert just
lays it out straight, like a BS-free conversation across a
café table with an old buddy.

They started
as five boys singing on street corners
and subway stations of Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn in
1962. The sounds of their 18 albums reflects powerful
influences of gospel, doo-wop, soul and pop and have
included songs ranging from Frank Sinatra to Frank Zappa,
from Sam Cooke to Bob Dylan, Lennon and McCartney to
Rogers and Hammerstein. They have opened concerts for Ray
Charles, The Grateful Dead and Joni Mitchell. Bruce
Springsteen once opened for them.
Frank Zappa was so moved by their music that he produced
their first record. Their cover of Papa Oom Mow Mow
appears on the soundtrack of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
Don't miss the kings of a cappella!
"They are to singing what Muhammad Ali was to
boxing---invincible, innovative, original, beautiful."

Fresh off a memorable performance at
BB King's in New York, Natural Breakdown is becoming
known
not only for their musical virtuosity,
complex rhythms and mood changes, but for the
remarkable visual aspects of their show.
No one who saw
them at the OH in October 2008 will forget their amazing renditions
of I Just Want to Celebrate and Pink Floyd's
One of These Days and
Eclipse, taking these classics to new heights.
But it's
their original compositions that will truly blow you away.
The Opera
House is the place to experience a great new band on the
rise.

world rhythms ranging from funk, to bluegrass, trance,
